BIO

Simiane Tatu - A Journey of Faith and Music

Simiane Tatu is a renowned French gospel singer, known for her exceptional ability to sing in numerous dialects and languages, captivating audiences worldwide. Originally from the south of France, Simiane grew up in the small town of Istres with her parents, who were already leaders of a home church, and her three brothers. At just five years old, she had two life-changing visions in which she saw herself singing and walking on African soil. Recognizing her potential and holding onto these promises, her parents enrolled her in the local music conservatory, where she learned piano and the basics of music. Later, as a teenager, she joined a jazz class, further developing her vocal skills. It wasn’t long before she became the lead worship singer at her parents’ church. At the age of 17, Simiane took her first steps on African soil, performing in a church in Ghana. From there, doors opened for her in Anglophone Africa, including Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa. After completing her high school education, Simiane began pursuing a degree in international law at the University of Aix-en-Provence, juggling her studies with her growing music ministry, a challenge that became increasingly difficult.

2019 marked a turning point in her career.

Her debut album, Les cieux sont ouverts (The Heavens Are Open), was released, and she left her studies to go on tour with Dr. Tim Godfrey in Nigeria. During this time, Simiane shared the stage with modern American gospel greats like Israel Houghton, Travis Greene, Phil Thompson, and others. This experience not only equipped her but also exposed her to a wider international audience. Simiane has since performed regularly in the UK and the United States, making her mark on stages worldwide. That same year, she performed in Paris as the opening act for gospel artist Dena Mwana. On September 23, 2021, Simiane headlined her first major concert at the Grand Espace Socioculturel Martin Luther King in Paris, which sold out in collaboration with Dorhema and Motown Gospel. That night, she also presented her album Qui pourra te détrôner (Who Can Dethrone You?), which continues to bless audiences to this day. In April 2022, Simiane married Prophet Joël Francis Tatu in a beautiful ceremony in Accra, blessed by Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams. The couple now travels the world together, sharing the good news of the gospel. Though they reside in Kinshasa, they also oversee numerous churches in Paris, Brussels, Libreville, Ottawa, and Lubumbashi. Their song La Shekinah has garnered nearly 6 million views on YouTube, and their latest single Ruach was released in January 2023. Simiane continues to grace stages in Kinshasa, Gabon, Guadeloupe, and even Jerusalem with TBN. In May 2024, the couple surprised their fans with a reprise of the single Encore une fois (One More Time), which ended with an announcement of Simiane’s upcoming new album. 2024 and 2025 promise many tours across North America, Europe, Africa, and the islands, as Simiane embarks on a musical journey that is sure to bless thousands.
